Cycle Counting Inventory –
Go to the Warehouse Fast tab on the Item card – find the Phys. Invt Counting Period field
Look up on that field
Add your count periods – below is an example of three different counts. You can make them anything you want- such as A, B, C, or 1, 2, 3. You can make as many counting periods as you want
After creating the periods – add to the item card –
To create a Physical Inventory Journal – go to Warehouse, Inventory, Phys. Inventory Journal or search for Phys. Inventory Journal
The journal(s) need to be created after all current documents are posted with shipments/receipts. After batches are created – the inventory needs to be counted before anymore postings take place in NAV.
From Actions, Functions, select Calculate Counting Period
You will get a list of all items that still need to be counted in relation to your WorkDate and the Next Counting Period.
You can count all of these or set a filter –
When ready to bring the items in – select the OK button at the bottom
You will be the following screen – you can include items that do not have an inventory balance, if you select for the system to ‘Print List’- it will also allow you to choose to ‘Show Qty Calculated’ quantity on the report or not.
The items are brought into the journal for counting.
Once counted, posted – the Last Counting Period Update is updated on the item card
