The date format can be changed in the data exchange definition column definitions in the data format column.
This is one example of how to change a date format. The settlement date format was mmddyyyy and it was changed to month name (3 characters) day and year(2) - Mar 221. If you do not want the space between month and day you can remove the space between Text,3> <Closing so, it would be Text,3><Closing.
