Note: There are 2 ways to create job

1) From Item Card  

2) From Sales Order.

 

  • Exercise 1: Create a job from item Card.

 

1.    On the Navigation pane click on items.

2.    From item list select item O12f71-2 (Diamond Ring with LaborPC).

Note: O12f71-2 is item with BOM, you can also use item without BOM.

3.    Click on Actions -> eJewelry -> Regular job.

4.    Customize serial NO. Form will appear.

  • In Pieces to create field, enter 15.
  • Click OK.


 

5.    The job will be created & it will display a job card.

6.    Lines tab will show the BOM components for item.   


 

7.    If there is no BOM mentioned on job, you can just create the job & 1 by 1 you can add items to line.[Optional]

  • To enable this updated cost & price on item card, go to item card o12f71-2 before you add new job component. (Navigate -> Item -> Item Card).
  • Expand classification Fasttab, in Job Cost Calculation field & Job price Calculation field select By BOM.
  • Let’s add a diamond item, to add item flow the steps.
  • In the type field, select Item.
  • In the No filed, select D00030 (Dia Round AA 11.0mm).
  • In pieces per field, enter 1.As we are creating job for 15 pieces, total pieces will be 15.
  • When we add any new item or change quantity of item we need to calculate job again. To calculate Job click actions -> Function -> Calculate job -> Cost & Price

This will update the Cost & price of Job.

8.    Initially when we create job its status is planning. To process the Job change job status to “In Progress”. Then only we will be able to consume or allocate Job components.


 

9.    Expand Posting Option FastTab.

It defines in which we way we are closing the JOB.

  • If we select Consume Component on close, we cannot able to consume component manually, it will be consumed manually.
  • To manually use the consumption select Use JOB consumption.
  • To manually allocate Job components select Use Job Allocation.
  • Select Consume allocated, to consume allocated components automatically after we close the job.

10.    Let’s 1st allocate 5 pieces of job component G18k.

  • Expand posting details FastTab, select Use Job allocation.
  • In pieces to allocate field on lines, enter 5.
  • Click Process -> Post.
  • The new form will appear, select Allocation.
  • The Job has been posted now, notice that Inventory Allocated (Base) field has value 5.


 

11.    Now we will consume allocated component.

  • Expand posting details FastTab, select both use Job Allocation Consume allocated on close.
  • Click Process -> Post.
  • Posting request form will appear, select Consume allocated.

 

12.    Now let’s consume 10 pieces of DFS40 item.

  • Expand posting details FastTab, select Use Job consumption.
  • In pieces to consume field enter 10. (On line containing item no. DFS40)
  • Click Process -> Post.
  • The new form will appear, select consumption.

13.    You can also auto fill the values of pieces to consume & pieces to allocate.

  • Click Actions -> Auto fill to.
  • List will appear.


 


  • Let’s select consume.
  • The pieces to consume field will be updated automatically.


 

  • Don’t forget to select “Use Job Consumption field” in posting details fasttab.
  • Click Process à Post.
  • The new form will appear, select consumption.

14.    To see the transaction of current job open job Ledger entries.

  • Click Navigate -> Entries -> Job Ledger entries.

 

 

  • This will open job ledger entries.

 

  • Here, transfer type- negative adjustment refers to Consumption. & Transfer refers to allocation.

15.    At last click Process -> Post.

16.    Posting request form will appear, select JOB

17.    Click Ok.

  • Exercise 2: Create job from sales order.

 

1.    On the navigation pane click Sales & Marketing -> Sales order.

2.    You can either use existing sales order or you can create new sales order.

3.    Let’s create a sales order for 10 pieces of O12f71-3.


 

4.    On the Lines tab header click more options.

5.    Click eJewelry -> Create Job.


6.    Notice that on the lines tab JW Job No. is updated.


 


7.    To Open the Job card, click eJewelry -> View Card.


 

 


8.    Expand posting details FastTab, select use job allocation.

9.    Click Actions -> Auto fill to -> allocate.

10.    Notice that pieces to allocate updated automatically.


 

11.    Click on Process -> Post.

12.    Posting request form will appear, select allocation.


 

 

13.    Now click Action -> auto fill to -> Consume.

14.    Notice that pieces to consume field is updated automatically.


 

15.    Expand Posting details FastTab, select Consume allocated on close.

16.    Click Process -> Post.

17.    Posting request form will appear, select consume allocated.

18.    At last click Process -> Post.

19.    Posting request form will appear, select JOB

20.    Click Ok.

21.    The Job is now posted successfully.
