This document shows how to create new users and set different permissions. 



1. In the Search bar at the top right, search “Users

2. Click on Users, once in the user menu select “+New” at the top left. 

 

3. In the User Card please fill out User Name, Full Name, License type: Full, State: Enabled.

4. If you are using windows authentication, Enter the users Windows user Name (their computer log in name).

5. If you are using Business Central Passwords, in the Business Central Passwords tab, click on the 3 dots next to password and enter the users password. 

6. You may now assign “User Groups” which automatically come with a set of permission sets. To do that click on the blank line under “CODE” in the USER GROUPS tab, then choose a user group.


 OR

7. You may also individually assign certain permissions under the USER PERMISSION SETS tab by clicking on the blank line under “Permission Set”.

8. Once you click on the three dots within the line it will offer you a dropdown of all available permission sets. From that menu you can now chose multiple permission sets. The page auto saves and does not need to be manually saved.

 

WARNING: SUPER user is he systems admin, please ensure you always have at least one super user assigned, if you delete the SUPER permission from the only super user you will be unable to get it


9. Once User is created, in the search function type “User Setup” 

 

10. Click “New” and select the User you have created in the “User ID” field dropdown.  

 

11. If the created user should not be able to see cost within the system click the “No Cost” checkbox in the columns.
